I rarely see a hundred people a day sign up for the newsletter to join the site as members of a thought experiment on the positive potential to tap these solutions in the surreal world. I am preparing to sell off and possibly owner-carry the costs for building-materials packages to good people who can come and load them out. They will have years to pay at no interest for the critical parts like windows and doors, even floors, trim, and roofing for at least 20-30 houses big enough to be a master suite, the main kitchen house, or a bath house. I also plan to publish more of my books and house plans to show the many who are now gaining interest in sustainable, organic housing that is available for little more than human energy. It is a concept I have touted for decades, but the timing and demand were not right.
After decades of supposedly being ahead of my time, the world is catching up, while I had all this material to create hundreds of houses stashed away in warehouses that now must be emptied. Just in time, the world will need this to create new solutions that work better than the collapsing system as the war, the economy, and the cost of living escalate.
Now it appears that more people are awakening to the housing needs and the desire to get out of the cities soon. Gardening, homesteading, staying healthy in both body and mind are finally becoming priorities over looking good, having a great car and apartment, but being miserably in debt and thus imprisoned with no chance of escape for decades. What if you lose your job? The world is changing fast, and most are not prepared. Some are waking up and realizing there is a different path to aging better, loving life more, and escaping the traps that the media has convinced people will make them happy. It has not.
Fuel costs to start, then food, and it finally seems to be forming into an economic bomb. No surprises here, as Wii expected much of what has happened, with the collapse of global delivery networks, imports suffering from tariffs, and rising costs to ship products around the world. What size house and car do you want if you had to choose and could not maintain the lifestyle you are accustomed to? Don’t have a clue. Then leaving the Matrix is not for you.
Fuel costs will make the locality for building, buying, and living a matter of saving money. The cost of a gallon of diesel will have nearly doubled from 8 weeks before I write this article. It will not get better for years, yet somehow the average American cannot see the consequences of such costs showing up in their lives as soon as they will. Driving 30 miles each way in a truck that gets 13 miles per gallon will put a damper on frivolous trips into town from the ranch or small towns outside the cities.
Where will the cutbacks in spending come from to help cover the loss of spending money as food and fuel prices rise rapidly, which no employer will be able to match with raises soon? Quite contrarily, more losses of jobs as the public has less money to spend on things they do not desperately need, such as food, medical care, medicines, clothes for the kids, and the many other costs associated with having a car, phone, insurance, and a home you are likely renting. Nothing will get cheaper except the things no one wants, which they are desperate to sell to get food, fuel, and essentials. Don’t forget cigarettes, alcohol, or drugs, the best-selling products in the hardest of times, which usually have gambling and sex included with the activities that follow their purchase.
Why not consider working with the magic possible when you salvage great spaces and create homes from them that will be healthy, imaginative, and last for lifetimes without destroying a tree, making glass, or destroying life so as to create disposable homes that make people sick and are obsolete within twenty years of when they are built.
The future was clear long ago, from my perspective, with a childhood unlike most kids’, and what I got to see convinced Mii there was more to come. I would survive my childhood, though it would seem miraculous. It has been, is, and promises to be more amazing in the coming years. Welcome to the nightmares that Darby once had when he was given some insight into the world ahead. Know that this is the chance of a lifetime to become your very best version of yourself when the world needs your help most.
